Most people who never or seldom use incense often think of it simply as an air freshener or an odour eater and are unaware of the many benefits it has to the mind and body. Even many regular incense users who use it regularly may not fully appreciate all its physical and psychological benefits. The fragrant smoke is used as a way to carry prayers and hope to divinity and to create a pleasant environment for humans to meet with Deity, and to purify a room/space and surrounding area of negative and disturbing vibrations.

Many spells use incense to increase the power of the spell, and incense is the "air" element of a spell. You can use stick, cone, resin in an appropriate burner, or the dried herbs bundled in a smudge stick, depending on what your are trying to achieve with the use of the incense, and also for convenience & safety. There are many different types of burners, some can be used for more than one type of incense. The resin incense burnt on a charcoal disc is most commonly favoured in witchcraft. If you are casting a spell you can easily burn your own mixture that is made for that particular spell. All you need is an incense burner and charcoal discs to place the incense on.You light the charcoal and place it in your receptacle and sprinkle your incense onto the burning coal. (use a small set of tongs to hold the disc, and be aware of potential fire hazard, as sometimes they can spark a lot) You can control how much or little smoke is created in this way.

Copal - Is sacred to the Mayan and Aztecs, this blend is suitable for honouring the Gods.

Dragons Blood - Magickal uses for dragon’s blood are love, protection, exorcism, and potency. On its own, when burned, it can dispel negativity. It can also be used to add a little extra oomph to any spell or magickal working. It is also used to make magickal inks which are especially used in oath making. Its planetary ruler is Mars and is associated with fire.

Frangipani - Burn this to brighten your home with friendship and love.

Frankincense - Use this to draw upon the energy of the sun to create sacred space, consecrate objects, and stimulate positive vibrations.
